WHAT:         N.C. Prison Reform Advisory Board Meeting

DATE/TIME:     Tuesday, Feb. 5, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

WHERE:     Warren Correctional Institution Visitation Room, 379 Collins Road, Manson, NC 27553

ABOUT:     DPS established the Prison Reform Advisory Board, whose members are appointed by the Secretary, in January 2018. The Board predominantly consists of experts in the field of corrections. The members provide advice on best practices related to prison safety and security. The Board also looks at various topics including operations, training, staffing, technology, facility design, and inmate work and program assignments.

Board members will hear about Warren Correctional Institution, updates on Prison Reform and the special operations and intelligence unit from senior administrators and subject matter experts. 

Should you attend, you must arrive between 9-9:45 a.m. in order to clear security prior to the meeting. All visitors must go through the facility security entrance, where you will be subjected to a pat-frisk search by correctional officers, and you must clear a metal detector.  Visitors must present a valid photo ID in order to enter the prison, and cell phones are not permitted inside a state prison.
