Community Mitigation Resiliency Workshop in Kenansville

Duplin County residents can get tips and advice on how to protect their families and their homes from future disasters at the Ed Emory Auditorium in Kenansville on Feb. 12.

Before Hurricane Florence arrived, you may have thought your home would never flood. At this event, FEMA flood mitigation specialists will help you find your home on the floodplain map and explain what that means to you. You might be surprised to learn where your home is on this map and how that will impact you and your loved ones in the future.

These specialists will also be available to answer questions about home repair and resiliency, making disaster plans, and the importance of flood insurance. 

Mitigation is an effort to reduce the loss of life and property damage by lessening the impact of disaster. The mitigation specialists will be available at:
