As the summer vacation season fast approaches, the State Highway Patrol is encouraging motorists to keep safety at the forefront throughout Memorial Day weekend. Increased travel could potentially be seen across the state as restrictions associated with COVID-19 continue to ease. 

Following testing earlier this week, children at two state juvenile justice facilities have tested negative for COVID-19; testing of juveniles at a third facility will take place today.

The State of North Carolina and FEMA are announcing more than $2 million to reimburse Hurricane Florence-related expenses for Sanford utility repairs.

A North Carolina public utility affected by Hurricane Dorian has been approved by disaster assistance funding from the State of North Carolina and FEMA. The South River Electric Membership Corporation in Dunn was approved for more than $927,100 to reimburse hurricane-related expenses.
