After receiving several complaints from concerned citizens and law enforcement, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) launched an undercover investigation to address concerns of illegal activity in and around Bunn Tavern, located at 669 Main Street, Bunn.
 After receiving numerous citizen complaints regarding ongoing criminal activity, including the distribution of illegal drugs in and around the City Tavern at 404 N Main St, Creedmoor, NC 27522, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) Division and the Creedmoor Police Department (CPD) launched a joint undercover investigation in August to address these concerns.
After ongoing criminal violations, acts of violence and numerous community complaints at Kalee’s Oasis, Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins requested assistance from the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) to investigate criminal activity at the property located at 5359 U.S. 74 Alternate West in Rowland.As a result of this joint law enforcement investigation, Superior Court Judge Gregory Bell signed a Nuisance Abatement Consent Judgment and Final Order of Abatement for this property on September 10, 2025.
Over the past several months, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) conducted a targeted investigation into criminal activity, primarily the possession and sale of illegal drugs and alcohol, occurring in and around ABC-licensed businesses in Wilmington. This investigation was initiated in response to complaints from concerned citizens and the Wilmington Police Department, who identified these establishments as recurring sources of neighborhood crime.
Following repeated criminal offenses and numerous complaints from the community, Lenoir Police Department Chief Andy Wilson requested assistance from North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) to address persistent illegal activity at the property located at the Red Roof Inn in Lenoir, N.C. Based in these investigative findings, a civil nuisance abatement case was filed in Superior Court.
Following repeated criminal offenses and numerous complaints from the community, Spring Lake Police Chief, Errol Jarman sought support from the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) to address persistent illegal activity at the Plush Sports Bar & Lounge located at 108 NC-210, Spring Lake, N.C.
Following repeated criminal offenses, drug overdoses, and numerous complaints from the community, Rutherford County Sheriff Aaron Ellenburg sought support from the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division to address persistent illegal activity at the property located at 281 Andy Drive in Forest City, NC. The investigation that followed resulted in the filing of a civil nuisance abatement case based on the evidence gathered.
Over the past several weeks, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) conducted a targeted investigation into criminal activity involving the possession and sale of fentanyl and cocaine in the parking lots of convenience stores in Raleigh.
On Sunday, July 6, 2025, a shooting involving an employee providing security services occurred at the 11 Eleven Lounge and Bar located at 111 West Thompson Street, Fairmont, North Carolina. During the subsequent investigation, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) and the Fairmont Police Department (FPD) learned the employee provided a false name to investigators but was eventually identified as Jhaves Gilliam. During the initial investigation, Gilliam provided a false name that was linked to his security company, Gomez Protection Detail.
After prolonged and continuous criminal violations, acts of violence, and community complaints at the Pinewood Apartments, Dunn Police Chief Cary Jackson solicited assistance from the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division regarding an investigation into ongoing criminal activity.
