After an extensive history of disturbances, a homicide, drug violations, shootings, and numerous calls to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, the community surrounding Sundowner Lane in Angier should soon see long awaited changes. On December 16, 2024, Resident Superior Court Judge Winston Gilchrist signed a Consent Judgment for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action regarding the properties located at 249 and 295 Sundowner Lane, Angier.

On December 13, 2024, Lenoir County Superior Court Judge Imelda J. Pate signed a Consent Judgment resulting from a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action regarding the property located at 445 and 453 Pear Street, Kinston. The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, working with the property owners and the community, have reached a successful resolution to ensure actions at these properties do not negatively impact the community.  

North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) has concluded an investigation targeting controlled substance use and distribution at ABC licensed outlets in Carteret and Onslow Counties. This collaborative investigation resulted in 15 individuals arrested, 144 felony charges, 35 misdemeanor charges and 2 ABC violations, which will be submitted to the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Commission.  

North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) has concluded an investigation targeting illegal drug sales, gang activity, and violent crime in Troy. The investigation began after special agents received a request for assistance by Chief James Atkins of the Troy Police Department. ALE also received complaints of criminal activity in and around Refuel 140, an ABC licensed business located at 403 Albemarle Road.

On September 13, 2024, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) Division along with the Smithfield Police Department executed a search warrant at Mr. Smoke & Vape in Smithfield, located at 1547 East Market Street, Suite 102. 

On August 30, 2024, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) Division conducted an enforcement operation in Johnston County, resulting in multiple arrests and seizures. ALE special agents executed search warrants at two businesses in Garner—Prime Vape and Tobacco, located at 5533 NC-42 East and Cleveland Vape and Tobacco, located at 11007 Cleveland Road. 

As a result of complaints from the community, the Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) concluded an investigation into an illegal alcohol establishment in Wilmington. The investigation culminated with the service of a search warrant on this establishment, resulting in multiple criminal charges and the seizure of alcohol, drugs, US currency and one firearm.

On August 6, 2024, Superior Court Judge Tessa Sellers entered a Default Judgment and Final Order of Abatement for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action against the property owners of 31 and 43 Stoney Hill Lane, Murphy, NC.

A Vance County man has been charged twice in as many months for providing alcohol to the same underage 20-year-old female. 

Andrews Police Department and the property owner of 85 Temple Street, Andrews, North Carolina worked together to reach a successful agreement in a potential Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action against the property owner.
