The North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) and Chadbourn Police Department have concluded a multi-county investigation in which marijuana, spirituous liquor and numerous controlled substances were seized. This collaborative investigation resulted in the execution of two search warrants at a residence in Chadbourn. Three involved subjects have been identified, with one being arrested for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges and warrants outstanding for two others.

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) and Butner Public Safety concluded a joint investigation involving Butner Tobacco and Vape located at 407 Central Avenue, Butner. As a result, the owner, Abdulghani Abdo Mohamed Alashmaly, was charged with multiple criminal charges, including five felonies.
After prolonged and continuous criminal violations, drug overdose deaths, and community complaints, Rowan County Sheriff Travis Allen requested the services of the Alcohol Law Enforcement Division to assist with a civil nuisance abatement action regarding the property located at 660 Sides Road, Salisbury. As a result of this joint law enforcement investigation, Superior Court Judge Penn Broyhill signed a Consent Judgment and final order of abatement for this property.
On Saturday, February 15, 2025, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) and Lincolnton Police Department concluded a joint investigation involving Dave’s, a tobacco and vape shop located at 627 N. Aspen Street, Lincolnton. As a result, the manager, Omari David Cole, was charged with 20 criminal charges, in which 12 were felonies.

On December 16, 2024, Resident Superior Court Judge Winston Gilchrist signed a Consent Judgment for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action regarding the properties located at 249 and 295 Sundowner Lane, Angier.
On December 13, 2024, Lenoir County Superior Court Judge Imelda J. Pate signed a Consent Judgment resulting from a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action regarding the property located at 445 and 453 Pear Street, Kinston. The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, working with the property owners and the community, have reached a successful resolution to ensure actions at these properties do not negatively impact the community.
ALE Operation Leads to Multiple Arrests and Criminal Charges in Pender, Carteret and Onslow Counties
North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) has concluded an investigation targeting controlled substance use and distribution at ABC licensed outlets in Carteret and Onslow Counties. This collaborative investigation resulted in 15 individuals arrested, 144 felony charges, 35 misdemeanor charges and 2 ABC violations, which will be submitted to the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
