Raise the Age - NC
On Dec. 1, 2019, NC became the final state to "Raise the Age" for nonviolent offenses to 18. Criminal charges against kids aged 16-17 will now first be heard in juvenile court; those charged w/serious,violent crimes will transfer to superior court.
