The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Shanticia E. Hawkins as the new warden of the Warren Correctional Institution in Manson.Hawkins, 45, had been the interim warden at Nash Correctional Institution in Nashville.

RALEIGH:Governor Cooper announced additional federal funding is now available for the temporary employment program that helps North Carolinians get back to work in areas affected by Hurricane Florence. 

RALEIGH: Governor Roy Cooper today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has designated Bladen and Columbus counties as among the Most Impacted and Distressed (MID) areas that were impacted by Hurricane Matthew.

Hurricane Matthew pummeled North Carolina in early October of 2016, followed by Hurricane Florence in September 2018. Both storms caused massive flooding, driving thousands of people from their homes and creating havoc across eastern North Carolina.
