After years in operation, an adult live entertainment business in Selma has agreed to permanently close its doors.

The N.C. Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Isaac Rogers the new director of the North Piedmont Confinement in Response to Violation (CRV) Center in Lexington.Rogers had been the associate warden for programs at Dan River Prison Work Farm in Blanch since 2018.

A team of American Correctional Association auditors has recommended accreditation be awarded to the Catawba Correctional Center, a high achievement in an ongoing effort to obtain full accreditation of the North Carolina prison system.

The State Highway Patrol officially welcomed 39 new troopers at a swearing-in ceremony held for the 154th Basic Highway Patrol School.  The ceremony ended 12 weeks of rigorous training to prepare the new troopers for a rewarding career of service to the state of North Carolina.
