WHAT: The Governor’s Task Force on Safer Schools provides guidance to the N.C. Center for Safer Schools and considers future policy and legislative action that is needed to improve school safety in North Carolina. 

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is joining thousands of law-enforcement agencies across the country in promoting the Move Over law.

On Mon., May 5, at 8 a.m., State Highway Patrol  troopers, law enforcement officers, and other supporters from around the state began a 62-mile bicycle ride  in honor of 62 troopers killed in the line of duty since 1929.

RALEIGH – The State Highway Patrol along with the Wildlife Resources Commission and the Alcohol Law Enforcement Division are combining efforts in saving lives this summer.

On Monday, May 5, at 8 a.m., troopers, law enforcement officers, and other supporters from around the state will come together and begin a 62 mile bicycle ride in honor of 62 troopers killed in the line of duty since 1929.

Commissioner W. David Guice today named William Lassiter as deputy commissioner of Juvenile Justice in the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice effective May 1.

Secretary Frank L. Perry today announced two key appointments to the Department of Public Safety leadership team. Perry has named Ellis Boyle as Deputy Secretary and Gregory K. Baker as Commissioner of Law Enforcement, effective immediately.

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory accepted the Center for Safer Schools 2013 Report from Department of Public Safety Secretary Frank L. Perry today.

Nineteen students graduated from Juvenile Justice Basic Training during a ceremony held on Friday, June 28, at the N.C. Justice Academy in Salemburg.
