The State Highway Patrol unveiled the newest addition to its aviation fleet today at a ceremony in Raleigh. This week, state and local emergency officials joined representatives from Duke Energy in an exercise to test emergency response plans for the Harris Nuclear Plant in Wake County, NC.

North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) has joined Durham, Orange and Wake counties to host an inaugural emergency management experience like no other for young women in grades 9-12. While attending HERricane, students will learn about disaster response and public safety through field trips, training and disaster simulation exercises.

The State Emergency Response Commission will meet Friday, April 21.
