NC Correctional Institution for Women Offender Missing from Work Assignment

<p>State correctional&nbsp;and&nbsp;local&nbsp;law enforcement officers&nbsp;are seeking NC Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) minimum custody offender Gayle Newcombe&nbsp;(#0685978), who was reported missing&nbsp;from her work assignment&nbsp;in Raleigh/&nbsp;Wake County this evening.&nbsp; Newcombe was last seen on Avent Ferry Road at about 5:45 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

State correctional and local law enforcement officers are seeking NC Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) minimum custody offender Gayle Newcombe (#0685978), who was reported missing from her work assignment in Raleigh/ Wake County this evening.  Newcombe was last seen on Avent Ferry Road at about 5:45 p.m.  

Newcombe, 44, is a white female dressed in all black who stands at about 4-foot-6, 177 pounds and originally from Wayne County.  She was serving a sentence for habitual felon (2cts), several counts of breaking and entering (vehicle), felony breaking and entering, larceny and wanton injury to personal property.  Newcombe was admitted to prison on Aug. 27, 2014, and scheduled for release on April 18, 2020.
