Resolution for an Angier Nuisance Abatement Case

The West Church Street community should soon see some changes after property owners in this community have cooperated with law enforcement to abate several nuisance properties.

A civil nuisance abatement case requested by the City of Angier on behalf of the State of North Carolina has been ongoing for several months. Chapter 19 of the North Carolina General Statutes defines “nuisance” activities and provides for a civil remedy to abate such criminal acts and their detrimental impacts on the community.

Final Judgment Ordered in Lenoir County Nuisance Case

After a long history of disturbances, search warrants, drug violations and calls to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, the Meadowbrook community has cooperated with the Sheriff’s Office to ensure their children and families are safer.  On February 16, 2023, Lenoir County Superior Court Judge Imelda J. Pate signed a consent judgment for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action against the property owner of 615 Darden Drive, Lenoir.

Final Judgment Ordered in Wilson County Nuisance Case

After countless years and a long history of disturbances, drug violations and countless calls to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, the Township of Lucama has worked together with the Sheriff’s Office to create a safer community. On January 18, 2023, Durham County Superior Court Judge Josephine Kerr-Davis signed a consent judgment for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action against the property owner of 5421 Wiggins Mills Road, Lucama.

ALE SEARCH WARRANTS YIELD 220 Pounds of Marijuana and Non-Tax Paid Liquor

 On Thursday, January 26, 2023, NC ALE and Granville County Sheriff’s Office seized over 200 pounds of marijuana, more than 20 pounds of liquid THC, non-tax paid liquor and a large sum of cash while executing search warrants.

ALE special agents and Granville County Sheriff’s Office concluded an investigation into an illegal outlet and a marijuana grow operation in Granville County.  Agents executed three search warrants at the following addresses: 3623 NC Hwy 96, Oxford, NC; 4006 NC Hwy 96, Oxford, NC; and 3619 NC Hwy 96, Oxford, NC.

ALE Joint Operation Yields 31 Arrests, 76 Charges

Johnston County, N.C. – On Friday, January 20, 2023, NC ALE coordinated a joint operation to address criminal activity in and around ABC permitted establishments in Johnston County. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Smithfield Police Department, Four Oaks Police Department, Johnston County ABC, and the NC State Highway Patrol participated.

ALE Agents Find Unresponsive Teenager in Woods Near House During Search Warrant

Three handguns, marijuana and alcoholic beverages were found and seized during an investigation which resulted in multiple arrests and one teen hospitalized. 

 On Saturday, January 21, NC ALE special agents, assisted by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina State Highway Patrol, executed a search warrant at 5310 Burrow Road in Julian, NC. Law enforcement found attendees at the residence ranging in age from 11-years-old to 23-years-old. During the search, three handguns and marijuana were discovered.

ALE Concludes THC Investigation


ALE special agents recently concluded an illegal THC product investigation which resulted in numerous felony arrests, charges, and seizures.

The investigation stemmed from a complaint that teens purchased vape products from two tobacco stores in Tabor City and subsequently became ill after ingesting the products.

After two homicides, countless years and a long history of disturbances, drug violations and numerous calls to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the Quarters community should soon see long awaited changes.

On Thursday, Dec. 15, Superior Court Judge R. Roupe signed a consent judgment for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action against several properties on Carlon Road, Longwood.

Newton Grove Store Clerk Charged After Underage Driver Crashes

A store clerk has been criminally charged following a single-vehicle collision in Duplin County.On Friday, Dec. 2, North Carolina State Highway Patrol notified ALE of a collision involving an underage driver who had consumed alcoholic beverages.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Landen Lovic, 19, of Goldsboro who suffered minor injuries in the single vehicle crash and was transported to the hospital. Malt beverages were found inside the vehicle at the time of the crash and were believed to be a contributing factor.

Final Judgment Ordered in Roxboro Nuisance Case

After years of violence, drug sales, and death investigations, citizens will soon see much-needed changes at a Roxboro motel.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Person County Superior Court Judge Cindy Sturgis signed a consent judgment for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action against Padmavati 2021 Inc., Harmanbhai and Shakuntlaben Patel, the property owners of Timberland Motel, located at 720 North Madison Boulevard, Roxboro, North Carolina.
