NC SAVAN

SAVAN LogoNorth Carolina Statewide Automated Victims Assistance Notification (NC SAVAN) is a criminal justice information-sharing system that supports automated victim notification for incarcerated offenders (jail and state prison) and offenders on community supervision (probation, parole or post-release supervision).

NC SAVAN provides free, 24-hour automated victim assistance and victim notification of crime. Through this service, victims can get offender custody status information through the Internet, by phone, or mobile application, and can register for either telephone, text, TTY or email notifications.

By calling 877-NC SAVAN, (877-627-2826), victims can speak to an operator to learn about the custody status of an offender. Translation services are available in more than 100 languages relative to services provided by NC SAVAN.

A victim can also register to receive notifications when the custody status of an offender changes. Notifications are provided in English and Spanish. TTY is also available.

NC SAVAN also oversees victim services for prisons, probation and parole.

For toll-free victim services, call 1-866-719-0108 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.

The Victim Services Unit for Prisons, Probation and Parole assists crime victims by helping them understand the adult correction system and victim rights in the correctional process.
