EM Capacity Building Competitive Grants - 2022

North Carolina's 2021 state budget provides $3 million for Capacity Building Competitive Grants for Emergency Management agencies.  

 

This new state-funded grant program provides up to $400,000 of funding to eligible county emergency management agencies to build emergency response & recovery capacity in their jurisdictions ($3M total funding available for FY2022). 

 

All EMAs from counties with populations below 210,000 as defined in the 2019 Certified County Population Estimates from the State Demographer in the Office of State Budget and Management are eligible.

 

The target priorities for this funding cycle include:  

  • Preparedness initiatives
  • Increasing local mass care and human services capacity 
  • Improving incident management/coordination capacity
  • Improving EOC capabilities, to include technology initiatives for continuity of operations purposes
  • Resiliency initiatives  
  • Other items supported by a documented local or regional risk assessment/THIRA

CBCG is a competitive program, and applications will be scored according to the breakdown listed in the notice of funding opportunity and application.  Applications will be accepted until 5pm on April 15th, 2022.  If you have questions about this opportunity, please contact your county’s assigned NCEM Multi-Hazard Field Planner.
