UPDATE:  4:30 pm, Dec. 20 - Inmate Kenneth Bolden has been located and returned to custody at Wilkes Correctional Center.

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice reports that a juvenile being held in secure custody at the Wake Regional Juvenile Detention Center has escaped following a court hearing at the Wake County Courthouse.

The North Carolina Air National Guard promoted Sanford resident Clarence Ervin to the rank of brigadier general becoming the first African American general officer in the N.C. Air Guard's 67-year history.

At approximately 8:03 a.m., the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle collision on N.C. 98 near BayaVista Way in Wake County.

State Highway Patrol Major Glenn M. McNeill Jr., was one of 230 law enforcement officers who graduated today from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Va. McNeill, who is a 22-year veteran, oversees the State Highway Patrol’s Training Academy in Garner.

Governor Pat McCrory and First Lady Ann McCrory are encouraging North Carolinians to take additional steps to ensure their pets are safe this winter.
